The Look emerged after the 2003 breakup of Growth of Alliance, and featured that band's exceptionally talented rhythm section, though in a much different setting. Although they only stuck around for a few years, The Look managed to craft one LP, Popularity Boom, chock full of infectious pop-rock hooks, rich vocal harmonies, and a heavy dose of theatricality. Keyboardist Nick Powers and bassist Dylan Gautschi later regrouped with Growth frontman Kevin Gautschi to form Major Powers & the Lo-Fi Symphony.
